The arrival of a global pandemic was no time to hold a charity golf tournament. And yet, our incredibly generous supporters stepped up and donated an astonishing total of $225,650 to support the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation scholarship fund.

Our annual COPi Cup (a legacy of our company’s original name) took place over the weekend of March 7-9 at the world-renowned Pebble Beach resort near Monterey, California. The weekend of competition, camaraderie and charity brought together long-time supporters and new participants from some of Southern California’s finest golf and country clubs, each club sending a team of three amateurs and a pro to play in our 3-day event.

Through the generosity of our players and the efforts of the SCGA staff, we have managed to raise $1.1 million over the past eight years. With these gifts, we're able to fund more than 50 scholarships annually, and host college tours and college preparation seminars.

SCGA Junior Golf Foundation has created a community of scholars who support one another and push each other to do better on the course and in the classroom.

Clearly, the values learned from golf go beyond the course. As one young recipient says:

“I know not a lot of kids get chosen for these opportunities, I think the reason why I was chosen is because they see that I’m hard-working, respectful and trying to do more in my life. I am grateful and I will continue to be the best version of myself I can be. ”

– Salvador Hinojosa, SCGA Junior Scholar

No pandemic can stop the progress of human curiosity, development and scholarship. We are proud to have been the founding sponsor of this incredible event, and to have made a real difference in the lives of so many young people.
